Your new role
This role will act as a
Senior Database Engineer

within the Supply Chain Technology function. This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating enterprise-grade Database platforms that support business-critical services across Cloud and on-prem environments.

The
Senior Database Engineer

will combine deep technical expertise with proactive engineering practices to ensure Database availability, performance, security, and recoverability.

This person will collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, Application Development, and Security teams to guarantee that the data layer remains scalable, resilient, and aligned with enterprise standards.

The
Senior Database Engineer
will:
Design and implement Database architectures (PaaS, IaaS, managed services)

Configure and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery mechanisms

Perform advanced performance tuning and query optimization

Manage Database patching, upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance

Implement backup and recovery strategies, including recovery testing

Automate Database provisioning and maintenance tasks

Support root-cause analysis for data-layer incidents

Collaborate with Application Development on schema design and data performance.

A typical day will include engineering and optimizing Database solutions, performing performance analysis, maintaining operational stability, and participating in cross-functional design discussions with technical teams and stakeholders.

This role will also include close collaboration with internal engineering teams such as Platform Engineering, SRE, Security, and Application Development, as well as occasional interaction with external vendors and Cloud providers.

What you will need to succeed
As a
Senior Database Engineer
, you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
+6 years of experience in Database Engineering or Database roles
Experience managing production Database environments at scale

Experience working in enterprise scale IT environments

Experience with Cloud native Database services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)
Experience with backup, restore, and disaster recovery testing

Strong expertise in relational and/or NoSQL platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of HA/DR configurations and performance tuning

Strong understanding of Database security, encryption, and access control

Understanding of application–Database interaction patterns

Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools

Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to collaborate effectively in cross functional teams

Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.
