Your new Role
This role will act as a
Database Engineer

within the Supply Chain Technology function. This person will be responsible for the operational maintenance, monitoring, and support of enterprise Database environments to ensure availability, performance, and data integrity.

The
Database Engineer

will collaborate closely with Senior Database Engineers, Platform Engineering, SRE, Application Development, and other internal teams to maintain reliable, secure, and compliant Database operations across both Cloud and on-premises environments.

The
Database Engineer
will:
Monitor Database health, performance, and availability

Execute Database patching and minor upgrades

Perform routine backup and restore operations

Manage user access and permissions according to security policies

Support Database provisioning based on defined standards

Troubleshoot Database-related incidents and escalate complex issues

Maintain Database documentation and configuration records

Support capacity monitoring and report potential resource constraints.

A typical day will include operational monitoring, performing maintenance activities, resolving Database incidents or service requests, updating documentation, and interacting with cross-functional teams to support stable and compliant production environments.

This role also includes daily engagement with internal technology teams such as Platform Engineering, SRE, Full-Stack Support, and Security, as well as occasional collaboration with external vendors or Cloud providers.

What you will need to succeed
As a
Database Engineer
, you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
+3 years of experience in Database Administration, or support roles
Experience supporting production Database environments
Knowledge of relational platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)
Knowledge of Database security and access management
Good understanding of Cloud Database services

Understanding of patching and maintenance practices

Understanding of ITSM processes and change management

Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures

Familiarity with scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)

Good analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work effectively in cross functional environment

Excellent communication skills – Fluency in English.
