Tech Lead Job Title: Tech Lead – Laravel/PHP Platform Engineering

As a Tech Lead – Laravel/PHP Platform Engineering, you will be working for our client, an event ticketing and experience booking platform powering some of the largest mega events in the Kingdom. You will help lead the technical execution of scalable, reliable backend services—combining hands-on engineering with squad-level guidance to keep high-traffic systems healthy, fast, and production-ready.

Your main responsibilities:Act as the technical leader for your squad by owning system design, code quality, and engineering standards.

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions in the Laravel/PHP backend.
• Contribute hands-on when needed, especially for complex or high-impact areas in the codebase.

Lead code reviews and guide architectural decisions, ensuring strong practices in testing, documentation, and observability.

• Balance short-term delivery with long-term system health, sustainability, and technical debt management.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Own end-to-end execution of squad deliverables—from planning through production release—aligned with platform standards.

• Ensure production readiness for owned services by supporting incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-mortems.
• You're ideal for this role if you have:10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in Laravel/PHP backend systems, including building high-performance, scalable platforms.
• Proven experience delivering high-traffic, mission-critical platforms.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices: code quality, testing, documentation, and observability.
• Deep understanding of scalable platform concepts such as SQL/NoSQL, caching, and concurrency.
• Solid strategic and operational planning skills—managing delivery while sustaining long-term system health.
• Experience in Scrum and Agile methodology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (fluent speaking and writing).
