You'll guide the exploration of what's possible with LLMs, agents, and emerging AI capabilities, while mentoring others and setting technical direction. This role is perfect for someone who has been deep in the AI space, loves pushing boundaries, and wants to share their expertise while continuing to learn in this rapidly evolving landscape. YOU WILL Lead the exploration and evaluation of cutting-edge LLM platforms, agent frameworks, and AI toolsDesign and architect AI-driven solutions that scale from proof-of-concept to productionMentor mid-level and junior developers, sharing your knowledge and fostering a culture of experimentationCollaborate with leadership to identify strategic opportunities where AI can transform workflows and business processesBuild sophisticated prototypes and production systems that demonstrate the art of the possibleStay ahead of the curve on emerging AI technologies and guide the team on what's worth adoptingParticipate in (and sometimes lead) technical design discussionsBridge the gap between experimental AI capabilities and practical business valueContribute to the team's technical roadmap and strategic vision for AI and automation YOU HAVE 5+ years of development experience with at least 2+ years deeply focused on AI/LLM applicationsProven programming skills in Python and experience with multiple technology stacksProven track record of building production AI systems or substantial personal projects that showcase advanced AI capabilitiesDeep hands-on experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, and the broader AI ecosystemHas not just played with agents and LLMs, but has built complex systems with them and understands their limitationsUnderstands the nuances of prompt engineering, context management, reliability patterns, and when AI is (and isn't) the right solutionExperience mentoring or leading other developersStrong system design skills and ability to architect solutions that balance innovation with pragmatismExcellent at explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesThrives in fast-paced environments where the technology landscape shifts rapidlyTrack record of turning experimental ideas into real-world impactIt will be nice to have Deep understanding of transformer architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG systemsExperience with MLOps, monitoring AI systems in production, and managing AI-related costsYou've built multi-agent systems or complex agentic workflowsExperience with AI safety considerations: prompt injection, output validation, reliability engineeringBackground in machine learning, NLP, or related fields (formal education or self-taught)Experience leading technical initiatives or projects from conception to delivery WHAT MAKES YOU EXCITEDDiscovering novel approaches to problems that seemed unsolvable months agoSeeing a new AI capability and immediately prototyping three different applications for itHelping a teammate have their "aha!" moment about how to use AI effectivelyDebating the trade-offs between different architectural approaches with the teamBuilding something that fundamentally changes how work gets doneThe challenge of making unreliable AI systems reliable enough for productionStaying at the bleeding edge of a field that's evolving faster than any in recent historyCreating leverage by sharing knowledge and elevating the entire team's capabilitiesABOUT THE AI AND AUTOMATION TEAMYou'll be joining a team dedicated to exploring how AI can transform the way we work.
