As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading organization driving international infrastructure projects across Europe and North Africa. You will play a pivotal role in supporting both ongoing network operations and a major hardware replacement initiative, shaping the future of enterprise connectivity and security.
Your main responsibilities:Lead and execute on-site hardware replacements, including switches, Wi-Fi access points, and firewall appliances.
- Manage daily network operations such as monitoring, incident response, and implementing changes.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network equipment on platforms like Meraki, Fortinet, Check Point, and Palo Alto.
- Coordinate site visits with local teams and project managers to ensure seamless deployment.
- Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and wireless network issues across multiple international sites.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and installation reports.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, vendors, and on-site teams to ensure project success.
- Maintain compliance with security policies and network standards throughout all deployments.
- You're ideal for this role if you have:5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or infrastructure.
- Deep expertise with Cisco Meraki cloud-managed networking.
- Experience configuring Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls, VPNs, and security policies.
- Knowledge of Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Wi-Fi technologies, site surveys, and troubleshooting.
- Proven track record delivering multi-country or multi-site network projects.
- Fluency in English — essential for effective international communication.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel weekly across Europe and North Africa.
- Based in Portugal or Poland.
- It is a strong plus if you have:Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, NSE (Fortinet), PCNSE (Palo Alto).
- Experience in logistics, shipping, or large enterprise sectors.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN and cloud-managed network architectures.
- French language skills — advantageous given the client context.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow for change and incident management.
