As a Mainframe Operations Specialist, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the IT services industry, focused on ensuring seamless mainframe operations and delivering vital support for mission-critical systems. Your main responsibilities:Manage and monitor Z/OS systems, performing incident analysis and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performancePlan, execute, and supervise batch jobs via TWS and Control-M, ensuring timely and reliable processingRespond to incidents such as abends and dependency anomalies, implementing recovery procedures swiftlyCoordinate resources including disk space, JES queues, catalogs, GDGs, and datasets to maintain smooth operationsSupport ongoing process optimization, reducing batch run times, and participating in production releases and change managementDevelop and maintain operational documentation, including procedures, instructions, and performance reportsAct as a technical integrator, supporting development and continuous improvement initiatives in a DevOps environmentEnsure operational compliance with industry standards, security policies, and best practicesYou're ideal for this role if you have:At least 4 years of experience in mainframe operations or a related environmentStrong knowledge of Z/OS system monitoring, JCL, ISPF, SDSF, TSO, CICS, DB2, IMS, and VSAMHands-on experience with TWS and Control-M for job scheduling and incident managementFamiliarity with Windows/Linux terminal commands, shell scripting, and automation toolsKnowledge of file transfer procedures using CFT/Connect Express and incident management protocolsProficiency with ITSM tools like ServiceNowRelevant certifications or experience with Dynatrace and ITIL V4 are a plusIt is a strong plus if you have:Experience with scripting and automation on Unix/Linux platformsKnowledge of other monitoring or scripting tools relevant to mainframe environmentsLanguage Required for the role:Communicative proficiency in English (spoken and written).
