As a System Monitoring Specialist – IT Infrastructure and Network, you will be working for our client, a key player in the IT industry dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation of sophisticated technological systems. You will focus on maintaining operational excellence across diverse customer environments and orchestrate proactive system health management to support business continuity and innovation.
Your main responsibilities:Monitor IT systems, networks, servers, and applications using monitoring tools such as Nagios, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
- Respond promptly to system alerts and incidents, executing initial troubleshooting to facilitate rapid resolution.
- Escalate critical issues to relevant IT teams following established protocols and severity levels.
- Maintain thorough documentation of incidents, interventions, and outcomes within the ITSM/ticketing systems.
- Produce regular reports on system health, incident trends, and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and support teams to uphold service quality and security standards.
- Keep up-to-date with evolving system monitoring tools, configuring alerts, and proposing process enhancements.
You're ideal for this role if you have:Minimum of 4 years of experience in system monitoring or IT infrastructure support.
- Technical proficiency with Linux, Windows, and IBM i5 systems.
- Experience with shell scripting and SQL language.
- Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, Postgres, and SQL Server.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills in both English and French, written and verbal.
- Ability to handle multiple alerts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- It is a strong plus if you have:Certifications related to system or network monitoring, cybersecurity, or ITIL.
- Language Required for the role:Fluent in English and French — excellent verbal and written communication skills.
