Finance & HR Officer The British School of Lisbon Lisbon, Portugal Full-time The British School of Lisbon (BSL) is an international school offering the English National Curriculum from Early Years through to Year 11 in the 2026/27 academic year. We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented Finance & HR Officer to join our Finance & Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the school's financial operations and people processes, working closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure efficient, compliant and high-quality administrative services. Key Responsibilities 1) Finance . Process supplier invoices, credit notes and payments. . Process sales invoices and support accounts receivable activities. . Maintain accurate accounting records using Cegid Primavera ERP and Salesforce. . Prepare bank reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing activities. . Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. . Prepare financial analyses and reports. . Liaise with suppliers, parents and external stakeholders on finance-related matters. . Ensure compliance with internal financial procedures and maintain accurate financial records. 2) Human Resources . Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding and offboarding. . Prepare employment contracts and HR documentation. . Maintain employee records and HR systems. . Coordinate payroll information with external payroll providers. . Liaise with external organisations, including Social Security, the Portuguese Tax Authority, AIMA and occupational health providers. . Support compliance with Portuguese employment legislation and internal HR policies. . Assist with employee benefits and general HR administration. 3) General Administration . Provide administrative support across the Finance & HR department. . Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes. . Work collaboratively with colleagues across both school campuses. . Undertake other duties appropriate to the role. Person Specification 1) Essential . Previous experience in Finance, Human Resources or Administration. . Excellent organisational and time management skills. . Strong attention to detail and accuracy. . Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. . Strong interpersonal and communication skills. . Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. . High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality. . Experience using Cegid Primavera ERP. . Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. . Excellent written and spoken English and Portuguese. 2) Desirable . Experience using Salesforce. . Experience with payroll processes. . Knowledge of Portuguese employment legislation. .
